The 2012 Meursault Les Poruzots is rich, textured and voluptuous for this site. Honey, Chamomile and almonds add complexity to a beautifully layered, expressive Poruzots endowed with gorgeous depth. The flavors are ripe, succulent and generous throughout. My sense today is that the overt style is best suited to near and medium-term drinking.

There is enough reduction and post-bottling sulfur present to completely flatten the fruit. The palate impression of the muscular and powerful middle weight flavors is also relatively seductive though in this case there is a bit more overall punch to the more complex and persistent finish. I very much like the vibrancy and overall there is just more here. Tasted: Jun 15, 2014. Drink: 2018+
