Good full medium red. Pungent aromas of currant, truffle and earth; suggests older barrels than the Bussia. Supple and dense but less fresh than the Bussia, with lower-toned flavors of roasted wood and nuts. I'd like to have seem more verve, especially for a '96. Finishes with mounting, slightly dry tannins.
