Tasting notes
The 2005 Barolo Cannubi is dark, round and sensual, with lovely palate presence and textural intensity. Still fresh and vibrant, the 2005 has aged beautifully. Today, the tannins remain imposing, so readers will have to give the 2005 another few years in bottle. The new French oak remains evident, but all things considered, the 2005 is in a good shape.

Very rich and sweet with the scent of candied violets. Lovely now. Round and vital. Slightly reminiscent of La Tâche (high praise!). Long. Richly spice. Long and already open. (JR)
Earth, wild flowers, very subtle and ethereal, but not dilute at all. Massive structure on the finish. Not at all accessible or user-friendly thanks to the tannin, but there are plenty of flavours on display. (RH)
Polish, leather and chestnuts on the nose. Very perfumed. Quite powerful, long and savoury with layers of autumn leaves, dates and dried cherries, spice. Elegant long tannins. (TC)
