This was a balanced and classic vintage. The 1995 Le Pergole Torte happily reflects this fact. This vintage is drinking beautifully right now, with buoyant and bright aromas of blue flowers, dried cherry, wet clay, porcini mushroom, laurel leaf, cured tobacco and fragrant breakfast tea. This is a finely balanced wine, with integrated acidity and a long, polished finish. There are no loose ends here, and the wine faithfully reflects the elegance of aged Sangiovese.

A beautiful wine that is just entering its early peak of maturity, the 1995 Le Pergole Torte is showing very well today. Exquisite and layered in the glass, the 1995 offers notable freshness and overall intensity, in the mid-weight, gracious style of Pergole Torte. Radiant and pulsating in the glass, the 1995 should drink well for another 15-20 years if stored well. The 1995 is still developing and has plenty of upside. Today, it is striking. Tasted from magnum.
