Good deep red. Expressive, wild nose hints at red fruits, leather and game; less lively than the 2002. Juicy on entry, then rather tough and a bit youthfully awkward in the middle palate. Today the wine's acids are in opposition to its fairly tough tannins. This needs two or three years of patience.

Very deep crimson, quite direct fruit aromas. Slight agricultural overlay but no shortage of gentle matière. Should make a good bottle eventually. (cask sample) (JR)
