Tasting notes
Bright medium red. Cool, tangy aromas of strawberry, raspberry, flowers, spices, red licorice and mint. On the lean side, but suave, juicy and brisk, with lovely inner-mouth perfume and a captivating note of blood orange. Distinctly cool but with plenty of personality. Finishes with fine tannins and subtle length. I've found this village wine to be quite light in some past vintage, but this '06 boasts sneaky intensity and noteworthy purity.

Good medium red. Maraschino cherry on the perfumed nose. The palate shows a slightly high-toned rusticity, with fresh raspberry flavors in a fairly lean package. Nicely pure but a bit green on the back.
Cherry with a touch of menthol. Sweet fruit flavours, acidity is a little too fresh just now but I think it will round out to something softer and more aromatic. Pretty tight. (JH)
