Score 88-89/100 · Drink 1999-2004, Pierre Rovani, Aug 1998
Meunier informed me that vintage in and vintage out, this parcel always produces 38 hectoliters/hectare. It offers an extremely appealing nose of violets and blackberries drenched in mocha that gives way to a ripe, dense, feminine, medium-to-full-bodied, and refined character filled with sweet blueberries and raspberries. It also possesses a thick texture, excellent concentration, and lovely soft tannins. Anticipated maturity: now-2004. Importer: Robert Kacher Selections, Washington, DC; tel. (202) 832-9083.

Fresher, deeper red. Musky aromas of smoky black raspberry. Good intensity and density for a village wine. Has freshness in the mouth. Finishes with chocolatey oak.
