Score 90/100 · Robert Parker

Low yields in addition to riper fruit have gotten this estate back on track. Only 7,000 bottles were produced of the 1999 La Fleur de Gay, a 100% Merlot cuvee that is bottled unfiltered. It exhibits a deep ruby/purple color, serious concentration, and a lovely perfume of black fruits mixed with minerals, toast, and cherries. The wine is nicely-textured and pure, with wonderful sweetness, harmony, and ripe tannin. It will be at its best between 2003-2016. Apr 2002, www.robertparker.com
