Score 89/100 · Robert Parker
The 1985 exhibits a healthy dark ruby color, and a stunningly intense bouquet of jammy blackberries, plums and vanillin. The luxurious flavors, full body, and absence of tannin give it a satiny texture and voluptuous mouthfeel. Given its softness, I hesitate to extend cellaring, but over the next 5-7 years, this treasure should provide memorable drinking. Last tasted, 6/93. Aug 1993, www.robertparker.com
