This well-known estate is now owned by Clos Fourtet’s Philippe Cuvelier, but the estate was owned by Jean Theil when the 2005 was conceived. This 2005 reveals a beautiful black cherry and cassis-scented nose, with a touch of spring flowers, medium to full body, and supple tannin in a sexy, lush, heady style. A sleeper of the vintage, it is already approachable and satisfying, and can be drunk over the next 10-15 years.

Dark crimson. Very attractively well-melded nose. Fresh start with fully resolved tannins. Just a little harsh on the end. But a seriously alluring nose. GV (JR)
Mid crimson – not very intense on eye or nose. Hint of greenness on the nose. Sweet start but not one of the most complex 2005s of this appellation. Pretty drying tannins on the finish. (JR)

The Cuvelier family, which also owns Clos Fourtet, purchased this estate in 2008. It is one of the stars of the appellation, renowned for producing wine that is well above the standard of its neighbours.
