An attractive effort, if not one of the great wines of the vintage, the 1982 Poujeaux exhibits aromas of sweet berries, leather and orange confit, followed by a medium-bodied, lively and open-knit palate. It appears to reflect the yields as much as the potential maturity of the vintage.

One of the most seriously run Medoc properties, the 1982 Poujeaux exhibits a dark ruby/garnet color in addition to a complex, earthy, herbal, black cherry, and toasty bouquet, fully mature, round, rich, sweet flavors, low acidity, and a fleshy, succulent finish. About the producer
The Cuvelier family, which also owns Clos Fourtet, purchased this estate in 2008. It is one of the stars of the appellation, renowned for producing wine that is well above the standard of its neighbours.
