(these millerande vines yielded just 17 hectoliters per hectare in 2012, according to winemaker Vincent, who vinified with 80% whole clusters; there's also some chardonnay planted here; this wine was racked in July): Good bright red. Slightly reduced aromas of strawberry, raspberry, smoke and tobacco. Sweet, sappy and lightly saline, with lovely texture and a touch of noble rusticity to the flavors of red fruits, smoke and underbrush. Tactile, nicely balanced wine with broad tannins and good length.

About the producer
Based south of Nuits-Saint-Georges in Prémeaux-Prissey, Domaine de la Vougeraie was created in 1999, grouping all of Jean-Claude Boisset’s holdings under one name. The property has a total 40 hectares of vines, with extensive holdings in Vougeot as well as plots in six Grands Crus.
