Medium red. Sappy aromas of dark raspberry and flowers. Juicy and penetrating but a bit dry-edged, with a green streak that I did not find in the other 2004s from Laurent. A rather backward wine but I'm not wild for the tart edge.

(tasted from a new barrel) Good full red. Musky red fruits, coffee, leather and earth on the aromatically pure, expressive nose. Then a bit dry and hard to judge owing to the high level of gas; comes across as more backward and less sweet and fleshy than the old-vines premier cru cuvee Today the gas dries the wine's finish.
