The Dagueneau 2010 Pouilly-Fume Tradition (of which I tasted in April, predictably, the last bottling – though I found this estate’s lot numbers illegible, absent a magnifying glass and strong lighting) is another of those instances where Sauvignon seems to function as a delivery device for chalk and crushed stones. Not that this lacks for fruit in the guise of juicy, tart lime and white currant pungently accented by sage and nettle, struck flint and salt, and leading to a long, vibrant finish. This lean, straight-as-an-arrow Pouilly ought to remain fit for at least another 2-3 years. Importer: Weygandt-Metzler, Unionville, PA; tel. (610) 486-0800
