Score 88-89/100 · Drink 2004-2009, Pierre Rovani, Jun 2004

Though Mortet began harvesting early, he didn’t pick his 2002 Bourgogne until the 24th to ensure that it was fully ripe as it had the highest yields of the estate (40 hectoliters per hectare). Its dark cherry and spice aromas are boisterous and inviting. Medium-bodied and suave, this lovely, intensely ripe effort is packed with blackberries and cherries. Drink it over the next 4-5 years.
