Score 87-89/100 · Drink 2003-2007, Pierre Rovani, Jun 2003
Aged entirely in new oak barrels, the dark purple-colored 2001 Bourgogne Cuvee de Noble Souche bursts from the glass with grapey, plummy, black fruits. Plump, rich, gorgeously ripe, and medium-bodied, this intense, fruit-driven wine has a silky texture as well as a sweet blackberry-dominated personality. Drink it over the next 3-4 years.
