Tasting notes
A gorgeous wine built on pure texture, the 1997 Barolo captures all of the very best qualities of the year. Bold flavors match the open-knit personality in a wine that captures the essence of the Altare style. This is a superb showing from the straight Barolo. We did not taste the Barolo Arborina because the entire production was ruined by a batch of faulty corks.

Typical of the vintage, the 1997 Barolo is opulently-textured and fat, with low acidity. It is an extremely sexy, rich, flattering wine that will have many fans. Drink it over the next decade.
