The 1999 Barolo is a fine regular bottling, classic in its floral and anisette aromas, sustained and continuous with good concentration on the palate. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2016. Medium brick-red. Complex, rather delicate nose combines dried flowers, camphor and brown spices. Sweet and fat but boasts better structure and verve than the '98. A fairly sizable, serious Barolo normale, with sweet, nicely buffered tannins and very good length.
