Tasting notes
The 2012 Corton Blanc Grand Cru is limited to just one new piece. It has a beguiling, mineral-driven bouquet that is full of tension and vigor – very focused with subtle notes of white peach and passion fruit. The palate is very well-balanced, the new oak keeping everything rounded and seductive but without detracting from the character of the lieu-dit. There is just a touch of spice on the finish. Long and tender in the mouth – this is a superb Corton-Blanc. Caroline Parent mentioned that when she tours the United States, she carries a family tree so that customers do not get too entangled in the interconnected strands of the Gros and Parent branches. This is basically a negociant set-up based in Anne-Francoise’s winery in Beaune. In the past, you would have found bottled labelled “Domaine A.F. Gros et Francois Parent”, but now they are separate labels, the former reserved for domaine wines (see separate entry). Importer: Vance Erickson Fine Wine Brokers, 21913 Paseo del Refugio, Santa Barbera, CA 93105 and Great Signature Wines, 3548 D Ashford Dunwoody Rd., Atlanta GA 30319.

About the producer

Married to Anne-Françoise Gros of Domaine A.-F. Gros, François Parent also makes wine under his own name. He comes from the Pommard Parent family (of Domaine Parent) and his wines bear the image of a black truffle on the label.
