Aged 55 and from a good vintage, Huet's 1950 Vouvray Le Haut-Lieu Moelleux has an intense yellow-golden color corresponding with the brilliant and concentrated, lovely aromatic fruit and subtle herbal and mineral flavors in the nose. Very precise, nobly rich and elegant on both nose and palate, this is beautifully rich, intense, fresh and mineral, concentrated, pertinent and greatly balanced Chenin Blanc with tension, finesse and a gentle sweetness. Round and almost creamy textured with lingering stone fruit aromas in the long and salty/racy aftertaste, this is a great bottle in top form and should go for another 25+ years. (405 EUR)
