Score 86/100 · Drink 2023, Neal Martin, Apr 2023

The 1975 Pommard Clos des Epeneaux 1er Cru has a rustic but not unpleasant nose, simple with touches of white mushroom infusing the vestige of red fruit. The palate is a little stewy, probably heavily chaptalized at the time, and a bit cheesy on the finish. It becomes more volatile with aeration and decays after 20 minutes, but it is not a total write-off. Tasted at the Clos des Epeneaux vertical in London.
