Score 87/100 · Drink 1993-1997, Robert Parker, Apr 1993
These two offerings demonstrate what Australia can do so well - produce boldly scented and flavored wines that are bursting with copious quantities of spicy, ripe berry fruit. Just beginning to open, the 1990 Shiraz displays a deep ruby color, a touch of vanillin in its peppery, black fruit-scented bouquet, and solid, well-endowed, fleshy flavors. Although some tannin is noticeable, this wine is clearly drinkable and promises to keep for another 3-4 years. Importer: Franklin Selections, Linthicum, MD.
