Tasting notes
Deep ruby with narrow orange rim. This is a little more developed and open-knit on the nose than the 2008 and with hints of dried fruit. The ripe fruit palate is structured by wonderful, firm clinging tannins. Clearly ripe and generous yet not heavy or plump. (WS)

Bright medium red. Aromas of cherry, tobacco, dried flowers, earth and leather. Juicy, sappy and dry, with good energy and definition to the perfumed flavors of red berries, dried flowers and spices. Finishes with firm but suave tannins and very good length. Lovely subtle fruit intensity here. A medium-bodied and rather sophisticated Brunello with a lot of early appeal.
The 2007 Brunello di Montalcino emerges from the glass with sweet tobacco, spices, new leather, licorice and dried cherries. There is lovely complexity in the aromatics and more than enough depth in the fruit for the wine to drink well for a number of years. Sweet spices and crushed flowers add depth on the close.
