Tasting notes
Sesti's 2005 Brunello di Montalcino is a tightly wound, focused offering imbued with scorched earth, smoke, licorice and red cherries, all of which flow from an authoritative, powerful frame. It remains one of the firmer wines of the vintage, but there is a lot to like. Suggestions of smoke and tar reappear on the finish.

Evolved medium-concentrated ruby with orange tinges in broad rim. Garden herbs and forest-floor nose with hints of tar. Elegant lively fruit palate. Elegant too, the long finish. Tannic core. (WS)
