Tasting notes
This wine is exceptionally powerful, muscular, and concentrated, with a certain sternness, but impressive potential. It is not ready for consumption. The 1994 Brunello di Montalcino reveals sweet, spicy oak, leather, cherry fruit, and cigar smoke notes. Medium to full-bodied and dense, with impressive concentration, outstanding purity and length, as well as a tannic, austere finish, this wine requires 2-4 years of cellaring, and should keep for 15+. Importer: Empson, USA, Alexandria, VA; tel. (703) 684-0900

Medium-deep red. Aromatic nose of plum, tobacco, grilled nuts and animal fur. Suave and perfumed in the mouth, with penetrating currant flavor firmed by acids. Ripe and consistent. Finishes with firm but ripe tannins.
