Tasting notes
The top five Pomerols from J.P Mouiex (Certan d May, Providence, Hosanna, La Fleur Petrus and Trotanoy) are absolutely terrific in 2011. Providence has a nose of limestone and graphite all wrapped up in sweet damsons. Very fresh and sappy full of ligh and energy. Bravo!

Sweet red and dark fruit and attractively aromatic. Rich, black-fruited on the palate. All tied up in the structure but should open up to something more welcoming in time. Dark and savoury on the finish but the tannins show some finesse. (JH)
Another brilliant wine from Christian Moueix, the 2011 La Providence exhibits copious aromas of black raspberries, forest floor and a hint of spring flowers in its full-bodied, surprisingly rich, dense, creamy-textured personality. Long and opulent, this impressive Pomerol is a great success in this vintage. Consume it over the next 15+ years.
Aromas of cherries, plums and chocolate follow through to a full body, with chewy tannins and a subtle finish. Bright acidity. Tangy and fine. This needs two or three years to soften. Try in 2016.
