Tasting notes
Big frost year. Lightly mushroomy nose – not that much evolution but it doesn’t seem tired. A bit sweet and sour with the alcohol sticking out on the finish. A tad dry and fossilised. Fruit slowly leeching out. (JR)

Medium fresh red. Aromas of black cherry, dark raspberry, menthol and flowers. A ripe, dry midweight with flavors of cherry, raspberry, dark chocolate and herbs, lifted by cinnamon spice. Not especially fleshy or complex, but nicely delineated and perfumed. The fresh cherry flavor carries through to the firmly tannic, slightly oaky finish. Tastes like pinot made by a sauvignon blanc specialist. A very food-friendly style. This was racked only for the assemblage
Mid crimson and very pale rim. Some sweetness and quite bright energetic fruit. Very slightly stewed fruit but this is definitely the best Marlborough Pinot so far. Lots of oak and acid on the finish. Certainly ambitious. (JR)
