Score 86/100 · Drink 2021-2028, Neal Martin, Aug 2021
The 1991 Grands-Echézeaux Grand Cru predates Maxime Chuerlin's entry by a couple of decades, of course, and the modus operandi was far different in these days. This has a light, simple nose that is clearly shallower compared to the same wine from DRC. The palate is balanced but I find the tannins hard and unyielding, while the finish is pleasant yet unequivocally short. Drink soon.
