Tasting notes
This dark colored wine is fabulous. An extremely elegant nose of black fruits, flowers, leather, and sweet vanilla is followed by a profoundly rich, broad, dense, and expansive medium-to-full bodied wine. Refined, powerful, gorgeously ripe, fresh, and packed with cherries, blackberries, and toasty oak, this is a well-proportioned, focused, and immensely long wine. Projected maturity: 2002-2009. Importer: Kobrand, Inc., New York, NY; (212) 490-9300.

Spicy aromas of cassis, violet, herbs and flowers; rather Cote-Rotie-like. Fleshy and yielding, but vibrant, delineated and youthfully unevolved. Finishes with fine, dusty tannins and a firm edge. Needs some fattening up.
About the producer

Louis Jadot is arguably the most consistent négociant house in Burgundy. It has managed to straddle both the entry-level and fine wine market, while retaining respect in both.
