Tasting notes
The medium to dark ruby-colored 1999 Corton-Bressandes has a perfumed violet and red cherry-scented nose. This is a medium to full-bodied, powerful, massive wine with layer upon layer of cherries, plums, and blackberries in its chewy, satin-textured character. It possesses loads of superbly ripened tannin that give it an exemplary structure. This concentrated, muscular wine will be at its best between 2005 and 2012. Deep ruby-red. Black cherry, bitter chocolate, espresso and pipe tobacco on the nose. Huge, dense and sweet; really fills the mouth with concentrated, sappy flavors of crushed red berries. Thick and silky, with superb extract and fat. Finishes with sweet tannins and convincing length.
