Tasting notes
Full red. Nose initially dominated by charred oak, but opened to show cherry and red berries. Fat, lush and sweet, with black cherry, raspberry and licorice flavors opening and building with aeration. The longest of these 2002s to this point, finishing with firm but ripe tannins and intriguing notes of red berries and rose petal.

An outstanding, spicy black cherry-scented effort, the 2002 Nuits-St.-Georges Les Vaucrains is big, broad, and dense. Oak-laced black fruits make up this medium to full-bodied, thick wine’s personality. Projected maturity: 2007-2015. Importer: Robert Kacher Selections, Washington, DC; tel. (202) 832-9083
