Good red-ruby. Vibrant, dark aromas of blackberry, violet, rose, spices and truffle. Sweet, creamy and suave in the mouth but with real thrust and energy; the sweet berry and spice flavors show a penetrating quality. Finishes long and perfumed, with excellent grip. A terrific example of the vintage, combining sappy sweetness and firm backbone.

(14% alcohol) Deep red. Slightly rustic aromas of kirsch and leather. Supple and creamy in the mouth, but not currently showing the clarity or complexity of the best 2004s here. A tad dry toward the back, but persistent.
