Saturated ruby-red. Exotic aromas of black cherry, violet pastille and bitter chocolate. Then juicy and vibrant in the mouth, with much better flavor definition and more obvious energy than the regular village wine. Penetrating acidity frames the dark fruit, licorice and spicy oak flavors. Distinctly black fruit in character and not at all overly sweet. Fresh and rather powerful village wine.

Bright medium ruby. Black fruits, coffee, mint, licorice and sexy oak on the nose, with a hint of eucalyptus; reminded me a bit of California cabernet. Then impressively concentrated, structured and fresh, with sappy black berry flavors and terrific persistence.

Glowing crimson. Rich, round nose and good fruit on the palate. Then very sharp acidity and tannin. Far from generous. (JR)
