Tasting notes
Mid ruby with a wide pale rim. Fairly light, complex nose. Very sweet palate entry – some residual sugar? Quite a bit of dry tannin on the end that will presumably never disappear (raisined grapes?) but there is certainly some strawberry-flavoured pleasure here. (JR)

Good medium red. Ripe, smoky aromas of cherry, leather and roasted meat. Supple, round and creamy, with fresh red fruit flavors enlivened by herbal nuances. Fat and broad but shapely. Finishes with sweet tannins and very good length. A very successful village wine.
Deep red. Reduced aromas of black raspberry, smoke and game. Fat, sweet and lush, with good concentration of flavor. Has the full middle to support its ripe tannins. Quite reduced, though. (None of these 2003s had been racked yet in November.)
Cask sample. Rich and full and fruity. Very exotic and, at the moment, slightly fizzy. Smooth and heady. Engaging. A bit too oaked? (JR)
