Score 90/100 · Drink 2005-2012, Pierre Rovani, Jun 2004
Spicy black fruits make up the aromatic profile of the 2002 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes. A masculine, deep, pure wine, it offers layers of blackberries, black cherries, and notes of graphite. This medium-bodied effort should be consumed between 2005 and 2012. Importer: Daniel Johnnes/Jeroboam Wines, New York, NY; tel. Red-ruby. Roasted redcurrant, cherry, smoke and game on the nose. Fat, round, pliant and sweet. Very supple, easygoing wine with enticing red fruit flavors and a long, ripely tannic finish.
