Tasting notes
Dee p red. Spicy aromas of red and black fruits, licorice, violet and game. Juicy, bright and tightly wound, with sharply delineated dark fruit flavors lifted by lovely violet perfume. Very primary and firmly built. Long and vibrant on the aftertaste. Built to age.

Deep ruby. Reduced aromas of black raspberry, smoked meat and espresso. Very sweet, ripe and densely packed, with a flavor of wild black cherry. As fat as this is, itÂ’s not larger-scaled than the Clos Prieur. Rather backward on the end, finishing with slightly tough tannins and a peppery nuance.
Subtle oak spices mix with notes of leather, game and fresh plum aromas and leads to impressively complex, intense and sappy flavors of superb length. This is very ripe, indeed riper than any of the preceding wines yet this remains entirely fresh and bright with no loss of detail. A terrific effort and also recommended.Allen Meadows, Burghound, Jan 01 2005.
