Tasting notes
(55% merlot, 30% cabernet sauvignon and 15% carinena) Full ruby. Cassis, graphite and bitter chocolate aromas. Lush and supersweet, but with strong acidity giving the superconcentrated blueberry and bitter chocolate flavors terrific clarity and penetration. Impeccably balanced wine, with a very long, classy finish that features broad, palate-dusting tannins. Importer Eric Solomon describes this as the first garage wine of the Penedes.

It has been a long time since I tasted a red wine of this quality from this bio-dynamically run vineyard in Penedes. A blend of 50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Carignan, it possesses a dense purple color as well as a sumptuous bouquet of blackberry and cherry liqueur intermixed with smoke, vanillin, licorice, and caramel. Full-bodied with tremendous intensity, beautiful purity, and an opulent finish, it should be consumed over the next 7-8 years. Importer: Eric Solomon, European Cellars, Charlotte, NC; tel.
