Tasting notes
In contrast to its 1er siblings, this is really quite pretty and while there was a trace of reduction at first, it disappeared within 3 minutes so it's a non-issue for the Amoureuses. Otherwise, the nose is really quite pretty with the hallmark spice and wet stone nuances that add depth to the ripe yet cool and elegant red berry fruit aromas. There is a supple and very Chambollesque quality to the refined and utterly delicious medium-bodied flavors that offer good if not truly sensational depth and length. This is also relatively forward and while it will certainly age, I was surprised at how civilized it is already. Drink 2016+

The 2009 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses is a bit unusual for this site. The fruit shows more depth, concentration and overt richness than most wines from this vineyard. The signature perfume emerges with time, but this remains a wine essentially built on an intense core of fruit. Groffier used 10% stems here. The finish shows a little heat, which is the only thing that keeps the score from going higher.
