The wines of this famed domaine, long known for its classic old style burgundies, do indeed improve with cellaring. The Domaine Roumier made some of the finest 1988s and their 1990s range from excellent to outstanding. The premier cru, Chambolle-Musigny-Les Amoureuses, is supple and elegant, with a flowery, finesse-filled bouquet, medium-bodied, concentrated flavors, low acidity, and light tannins in the velvety-textured finish. This rich Chambolle should be enjoyable young and last for 10-12 years. Importer: Chateau and Estates, New York, NY.
