Tasting notes
The opulent, powerful, fresh, medium to full-bodied 2002 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses displays a mouth-watering nose of bacon wrapped, candied red fruits. This lush, deep, fruit-driven wine merited a “Great stuff!” in my notes. It is ample, crammed with red cherries, and displays an exceptionally lengthy, ripe finish. Projected maturity: 2006-2015. Deep ruby. Highly nuanced nose offers black raspberry, blackberry, bitter chocolate and roasted nuts. Silky, concentrated and sweet, with a captivating, seamless texture. Enters the mouth thick, then keeps its shape in the middle palate. Very rich and full, then explosively aromatic on the back end, which features very suave tannins.
