Score 72/100 · Drink 2018, Neal Martin, Nov 2018

The 1980 Lafleur is a notorious wine, the last produced by the Robin sisters. Perhaps given their age and infirmness, it is no surprise that they might have not been as dedicated to winemaking as they were in the seventies. My only encounter derives from a bottle purchased myself out of sheer curiosity. It is rugged and certainly green on the nose, quite volatile and barnyardy. The latter trait comes across strongly on the palate, verging on fecal with a dry finish. One to avoid unless you are really willing to take a risk. Tasted at the Sir Charles Napier restaurant for Mrs M's birthday.
