The 2001 Monbazillac Cuvee Madame (60% Muscadelle and 40% Sémillon) is showing just hint of amber in its darker gold color and offers mature, yet still youthful bouquet or marmalade, browned sugar, apricot liqueur, baking spices and toasted bread. Deep, full-bodied, seamless and ethereally textured, with a finish that won’t quit, as well as the hallmark weightlessness of the estate, this off the charts dessert wine is a match for anything out there today.
