Score 17/20 · Jancis Robinson MW, Mar 2018

First vintage ever made in Massandra winery. Dark brown. Greenish yellow rim. Not much nose – a little bit of swimming pool? Thick and sweet and almost sugary. A bit like fermented brown sugar. Good acid. Has not held together as well as the 1870 colheita port tasted very recently but amazing it is still alive. Difficult to score! (JR)
