Tasted from magnum, Parusso's 1996 Barolo Bussia Vigna Munie is austere, compact and lacking in depth. The French oak here appears to have gobbled up the fruit. Further time in bottle is not going to help.

The terrific 1996 Barolo Vigna Munie is exotic, with sweet scents of melted road tar, cherries, tobacco, and cigar box. Medium to full-bodied, dense, and full of fruit, this intense wine will be accessible young, but keep for 15 or more years.
