Score 74/100 · Drink 1989, Robert Parker, Jan 1998
The 1984 is less attractive now than from the cask. The wine is medium ruby, very oaky (too woody?), tough and stern on the palate, with more tannin than fruit. I would not gamble on this wine. Last tasted, 12/89.
