Score 91-93/100 · Pierre Rovani, Oct 1999

Crafted from 50 to 60-year-old vines, the ruby-colored 1997 Vosne-Romanee Les Suchots displays over-ripe, sweet cherry aromas dusted with talcum powder. It is an expansive, silky textured, medium to full-bodied wine, with suave red and black fruit flavors. Broad, well-focused, and complete, this wine also possesses a long and detailed finish. Projected maturity: 2001-2010. Importer: ???????????

Good ruby-red. Very ripe aromas of cherry, tar and exotic floral spices. Chewy and deep, with a lush texture and extremely fine tannins. But holding more gas today and a bit less expressive in the middle palate.
