Bright deep cherry color. Cool aromas of black raspberry, cocoa powder and mint. Less ripe and deep than the Clos des Forets; has attractive shape but could use more flesh to buffer its slightly drying oak tannins. Will this be sweetened by the second racking? Underwhelming today, but comes across as more pliant than the '98 version.
