Score 89/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, May 2006
(made from a 2.2-hectare parcel in northern Margaux from merlot and cabernet sauvignon vines more than 80 years old and aged in all new barrels) Good deep red. Clean aromas of plum and smoky oak. Supple and fine-grained, with noteworthy life to the red cherry and redcurrant flavors. This conveys an impression of sound acidity and good inner-mouth energy. Just the fourth vintage under new owner Luc Thienpont.
