Score 88/100 · Drink 2014-2025, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Dec 2014

The 1947 Chateau Lafaurie-Peyraguey is slightly lighter in color than the 1959. The nose is not dissimilar with dried honey, wild heather, dried flower and chlorine scents that become more pronounced with aeration. The palate is nicely weighted although it is not as unctuous as other 1947 Sauternes that I have tasted, and there is a touch of attenuation towards the finish. This is a pleasant 1947 but it could have been better.
