The 2012 Broustet lacks a little clarity on the nose, muffled compared to the 2012 Filhot. The palate is better with tangy mandarin and dried honey notes, though it needs more tension on the finish. So-so. Tasted blind at the Southwold Ten-Year On tasting.

Tasted blind. Full and pruney. Almost a hint of prune in armagnac! Lots to intrigue the taster. Finishes dry and fresh. (JR)

Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting. The 2012 Château Broustet has an attractive melted wax and clear honey bouquet that is nicely defined if missing a little intensity. The palate is balanced with honey, vanilla and a touch of peach. It is not a persistent Sauternes, but it has done its best in a tricky Sauternes vintage.

Tasted blind. A hint of ash on the nose at the beginning and then correct, sweetness with a little astringency at the moment. (JR)
